TechnoLogica Supported the 120th Edition of the European Study Group with Industry

2 Aug 2016
TechnoLogica was one of the partners of the international forum European Study Group with Industry (ESGI'120) held in Sofia between 25 and 29 July. The 120th edition of the event brought together more than 50 renowned scientists, undergraduates and post-graduate students at top Bulgarian universities, institutes of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and representatives of Ukraine, Italy, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

The goal of ESGI is to create conditions for the transfer of knowledge and technologies between the mathematics academic community and industry. The one-week workshops enable business specialists and representatives of the academic community to work together to solve specific problems posed by renowned companies. The problems are solved by academic specialists divided into groups in cooperation with company representatives. The problem that TechnoLogica asked to be defined concerned information security and involved developing a mathematical model of a cyberattack – Future Cyber Attacks Modelling & Forecasting.

The event was organised by the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science in cooperation with the Institute for Information and Communication Technologies and the Institute of Mathematics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, jointly with the European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry. ESGI has been organised since 1968 and takes place annually in more than 10 European countries. Bulgaria hosted the prestigious forum for the fourth time.
